Call to quarantine locals separately

The Balik Pulau Sports Complex is off limits to the public after being turned into a low-risk Covid-19 centre.

THE Penang government is in the midst of arranging a separate low-risk Covid-19 centre (LRCC) for locals who are now quarantined together with foreigners at the Balik Pulau Sports Complex.

However, it requires approval of the Federal Government.

State welfare committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said he understood that some of the locals at the LRCC were uneasy about being quarantined with foreign workers.
