PAYING your assessment tax, parking compounds and stall rentals can now be done cashless using the Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP)’s Boost e-wallet application.

MBSP mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said the integrated e-wallet system touted as first in the country, would further enhance safety of the people through reduced contact.

“In the past, we had developed the MBSPPay online platform as a payment gateway and one-stop payment centre for people to pay their taxes, bills, rentals and compounds through the Internet.

“The payments were made using credit or debit cards or bank transactions.

“Such cashless digital transformation saw 61.75% of payments done last year increase to 71.43% as of Oct 5 this year.

“Now, with a new e-wallet option using the Boost app, it adds convenience for people to pay from their own mobile phones, ” he said before launching the system at MBSP’s headquarters in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam on Saturday.

Present at the event was state housing, town, country planning and local government committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo.

Boost app is a mobile wallet which allows users to pay without the hassle of using physical cash.
