THE Festival of Lights or Deepavali is almost here, and shoppers at Queensbay Mall, Penang, are in for a treat this month.
A host of activities and events is being planned but on a smaller scale due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among them are the Get Creative with eKolam event from now until Nov 15.
Snap a picture of the mall’s Kolam and enhance it with the various filters on the smartphone before uploading it to social media sites with the hashtag #lightsofhopeqbm.
The best five pictures stand to win a beauty gift set from Bath & Body Works.
Children have not been left out as a similar event is also being organised where they are required to scan the QR code at various locations of the mall to download different Kolam designs.
They can then beautify them by using the digital applications on their smartphones.
Once completed, the pictures can be sent via direct message (DM) to the mall’s Facebook account by Nov 15 and 50 children could possibly win vouchers to dine at Queens Hall.
Shoppers spending RM200 (in two combined receipts on the same day) can also redeem Deepavali packets (while stocks last) at the Information Counter from now onwards.
Also from now, shoppers can redeem a RM10 cash rebate vouchers from Manhattan Fish Market at the Information Counter with a spending of RM250 (in two combined receipts on the same day), limited to 100 redemptions only.
The first 100 Citibank card holders spending RM1,288 and above in up to two combined receipts on the same day can get a Condotti trolley bag from Nov 6.
For CapitaStar members, they can redeem 35gm of Winter Warmers Rosebud Tea with 2,500 Stars from Nov 9.
Deepavali, which falls on Nov 14, is celebrated with lights and lamps to signify hope and virtue of life that make a society prosperous and progressive.
The mall management has toned down its celebration but the spirit and feeling of this festive season should never cease.
