Mall invites shoppers to donate towards keeping the needy safe

Donate a minimum of RM10 to get a fabric mask sponsored by SmartMaster.

AS DEEPAVALI is fast approaching, Sunway Putra Mall in Kuala Lumpur has extended a helping hand to the underprivileged by raising funds to keep them “safe” during the festive season.

The mall will hold a “Mask For A Mask Charity” campaign from now until Nov 8, where shoppers are encouraged to donate a minimum RM10.

The proceeds will be used to buy essential items such as face masks, hand sanitisers, disinfectant sprays and hand soap for three welfare homes in the Klang Valley, namely Yayasan Chow Kit, Mary Welfare Centre and Shelter Home Petaling Jaya.

In return, shoppers who donated will receive a custom-made fabric face mask sponsored by Smart Master as a token of appreciation.

Besides that, Cold Storage will sponsor 3,000 pieces of three-ply face masks for them.

Sunway Putra Mall said it was a joint effort by the mall management and tenants to keep everyone safe during these tough times.

To sweeten the festivity, Sunway Putra Hotel will sponsor 200 packets of coconut candy for the welfare homes.

The mall’s general manager Danny Lee said: “This Deepavali, Sunway Putra Mall embarks on a meaningful celebration with ‘Mask For A Mask Charity’, together with our tenants and Sunway Putra Hotel, and extends this opportunity to our shoppers to help the welfare homes to stay safe during this pandemic.”
