Market upgrading project to go on

StarMetro’s report on the disagreement between DBKL and the market traders.

MISCOMMUNICATION and lack of information was the cause of an earlier disagreement between the Kepong Baru open-air market traders and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) over a temporary relocation issue.

After an hour-long meeting, the two parties came to an amicable agreement that it was better for the hawkers to move out temporarily to make way for drainage upgrading work. It was also agreed that DBKL would standardise trading lots to one specific size.
