Welfare dept: NGOs for the disabled welcome to seek aid

THE Perak Welfare Department is ready to assist non-governmental organisations caring for the disabled.Its director Nor Tipah Majin said their doors were always opened.

“NGOs can seek our officers’ assistance if there are any issues.

“We will work with them to find suitable solutions, ” she said during her visit to Daybreak Association’s vocational training workshop for the disabled in Ipoh.

During the visit, Nor Tipah was given a guided tour by Daybreak executive chairperson Puan Sri Sandra Lee and committee members.

Nor Tipah was shown the various training facilities and activities that were available at the workshop.

She then met with trainees and was shown some of the items made by them.

She also attended a briefing on the NGO’s progress since it started in 1992.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session.
