THE Department of Environment (DOE) in Penang will come down hard on industrial and construction companies that fail to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) when disposing of scheduled waste.
Penang DOE director Abdul Aziz Parmin said the present operation ‘Ops Gempur’ which ends this month would be followed by another operation in October and continued till the end of the year.
