THERE will be a 12-hour scheduled water supply interruption in areas at Paya Terubong and Relau, said Datuk Jaseni Maidinsa.
The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) chief executive officer said the pipeline relocation works are necessary to ensure that property development activities on Lot 1087, Jalan Kampung Batak, Sungai Ara, do not damage existing water pipes in the surrounding areas.
“Work to safely relocate a 375mm MS (mild steel) water supply pipeline away from a development site in Jalan Paya Terubong will be undertaken on Thursday from 9am to 9pm.
“To facilitate all these physical works, PBAPP must isolate and shut down a section of the existing pipeline that stretches from the junction of Jalan Datuk Ismail Hashim to Pusat Petani Relau, Jalan Paya Terubong.
“This pipeline shutdown will cause a 12-hour scheduled water supply interruption in certain areas in Paya Terubong and Relau.
“About 10,000 consumers will be affected by this water supply interruption.
“Please remember to store sufficient water for use, ” he said in a statement last Friday.
The areas that will be affected include Kampung Relau, Taman Sri Sari, Taman Sri Sari, Persiaran Paya Terubong (1,2, 3,4 and 5), Persiaran Paya Terubong (1,2, 3,4 and 5), Taman Bendera, Solok Relau (1,2 and 3), Lebuh Relau (1,2, 3,4, 5,6, 7,8, 9 and 10), Tingkat Relau (2,4, 6,8 and 10), Taman Alor Vista and Taman Desa Relau.
