SP SETIA Bhd won three awards for three different projects at the recent Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards (MLAA) 2019.
The projects are Setia Eco Templer, Setia EcoHill 2 and KL Eco City (KLEC).
The event was shown live on the Institute of Landscape Architects Malaysia (ILAM) official Facebook page and YouTube.
Essex Gardens by Setia Eco Templer and Setia EcoHill 2 both won Excellence awards in the Landscape Development Award and Landscape Master Plan Award categories respectively. Vogue Suites 1 by KLEC received an Honour in the Landscape Development Award category.
“As the pioneer in eco-themed developments, SP Setia strives to deliver our commitment to sustainability.
“We have been incorporating green initiatives in our developments such as rooftop gardens, recreational parks and sanctuaries, among others.
“These awards are a testament to our company’s aspirations to meet international benchmarks for green architecture and sustainable developments,” said SP Setia president and chief executive officer Datuk Khor Chap Jen.
Essex Gardens is the first phase of Setia Eco Templer, an ecological-themed township by SP Setia in Rawang.
Honoured with Excellence in the Landscape Development Award category, Essex Gardens offers homes with English-inspired designs.
“Some of the prime features of Essex Gardens are the nine creeks and the majestic old trees that are found throughout the open spaces.
“When we first scouted the place, we were amazed by the rich flora and fauna, along with the nine creeks on the land that flowed from the forest reserves.
“We decided to plan the development around the natural setting, leading to the preservation of the majestic old trees,” said Khor.
As for the winner of the Excellence Award in the Landscape Master Plan Award category, Setia EcoHill 2 is part of SP Setia’s development projects in the Kajang-Semenyih corridor, together with Setia EcoHill and Setia Mayuri.
With the theme “A holistic living environment inspired by nature”, Setia EcoHill 2 features eight iconic themed gardens which house over 300 species of flora and fauna.
The Adventure Park at Setia EcoHill 2 also recently won a Gold Award at the EdgeProp-ILAM Malaysia’s Sustainable Landscape Award 2020.
KLEC is Malaysia’s first green integrated commercial and residential development in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
The Honour Award winner under the Landscape Development category – Vogue Suites 1 is the first residential tower by KLEC, offering a luxurious residential apartment complete with lifestyle-driven features to meet young urbanites’ expectations.
The 60-storey tower comprises 708 units within blocks A and B.
Each building in KLEC, including Vogue Suites 1, has achieved at least one Gold certification from an international or local Green Building Rating System.
Organised by ILAM, MLAA aims to recognise the cream of the crop in the landscape industry and is endorsed by the International Federation of Landscape Architects.
