KUCHING: Sarawak government has been urged to consider giving financial assistance to a voluntary amateur radio organisation to support their efforts in helping the Fire and Rescue Department.

State Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the department was collaborating with Radio Emergency Drone Squad Sarawak (REDS) for communications assistance in remote areas with no phone or government integrated radio network (GIRN) coverage.
