JOHOR BARU: The Johor government wants to see more middle-income earners involved in commerce as a way to increase their earnings instead of relying on welfare aid.
State women development, family and community committee chairman Zaiton Ismail said this came after Johor had set a new benchmark for the state’s poverty line income (PLI), which now stood at RM2,508.
