House buyers get more than a home

The nine lucky draw winners of the Lock & Win Final Countdown campaign.

JOHOR BARU: Buying a property and taking part in a contest organised by the developed proved to be lucky for nine people.

The nine, who took part in the Lock & Win Final Countdown campaign by Mah Sing Group Berhad, received cash prizes totalling RM40,000 at a prize presentation ceremony here.

The winners, chosen through a lucky draw, have bought properties in Johor Baru.

The lucky draw was originally scheduled for Q1 2020 but was delayed due to the movement control order (MCO) imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Mah Sing chief executive officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang, along with senior management of the group, carried out the digital lucky draw event on the group’s Facebook page in June.

Ng Hui Ek, 35, who bought a unit in Meridin Executive Suites in Medini Iskandar Puteri, was one of the lucky draw winners.

“It was a pleasant surprise and I am delighted.

“I did not expect to win. I will use the money I won to pay for part of the bank loan for my new home,” she said.

Kameesh Raj Pillai, 25, who bought a unit in Meridin Bayvue Serviced Apartment in Kota Masai, Johor Baru, said when he was notified of his win, he initially though it was just a scam.

“When I verified it, I was elated,” he said.

Mah Sing Group chief operating officer Benjamin Ong said they believed in the principle of reinventing affordability.

“As a result, we have huge support from housebuyers.

“Over 4,000 lucky draw entries were received throughout the campaign period.

“The MCO has impacted the people substantially. As a property developer, we stay true to our mission of enhancing lives by providing added value to our customers when they purchase a Mah Sing home.

“This is our commitment to meet the needs of our valued customers.”

Currently, Mah Sing is running its Eazy to Own campaign, in partnership with Maybank Islamic HouzKEY, an alternative home financing solution which enables house buyers to own selected Mah Sing projects easily with a financing plan.
