SKINCARE brand Hada Labo, in collaboration with Women Of Will (WOW) and Watsons, has launched its “We Care for Society” campaign to raise funds for women in the bottom 40% household income (B40) group whose livelihoods are impacted by Covid-19.

According to WOW chief operating officer Lakshwin Muruga, the B40 women targetted in this campaign consist of single mothers or women-headed households who have suffered loss of income following the pandemic.

WOW is a non-governmental organisation which aims to transform the lives of disadvantaged women in Malaysia, their families and communities.

Through a micro-credit financing model combined with an entrepreneurial development programme, it equips these women with the skills and knowledge to develop and run sustainable businesses.

“These B40 women have struggled to make ends meet as their income was hugely affected during the movement control order (MCO) period, ” added Lakshwin.

The B40 women are living in people’s housing projects in Ampang, Sentul, Cheras and Petaling Jaya.

Under this campaign, Hada Labo donates RM1 from the sales proceeds of every Hada Labo lotion product sold at Watsons outlets nationwide from Aug 1 to 31 to the “We Care for Society” fund.

The campaign is held in conjunction with Hada Labo’s 10th anniversary celebration.

“As we reach this significant milestone and celebrate the success of Hada Labo in Malaysia for the last 10 years, we want to remember the vulnerable community and give back to society, ” said Rohto-Mentholatum (M) Sdn Bhd general manager Lim Mei Yuen.

“We have selected WOW as our partner because our brand shares the same mission as WOW in carrying out our corporate social responsibility campaign, that is to reach out to vulnerable women living among us as well as to transform and enhance their lives.

“We hope the public will support us in this campaign in an effort to alleviate the financial burdens that these women face.

“Our target is to reach out to at least 200 B40 women with the funds raised.”

The total amount raised from this campaign will be announced at the company’s 10th anniversary celebration in October.

The campaign comprises three pillars, namely Care for You, Care for Society and Care for Nature.
