MPSJ president Noraini Roslan, who presented the awards, said the last three months saw the council fork out RM20mil to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, she said this was not cause for concern due to the cost-saving measures put in place before the pandemic.

“But we need to continue working towards changing for the better so that the council’s services can continue to be enjoyed by MPSJ residents, ” she said, referring to the municipality being upgraded to city status. “I hope our employees will not be lax with the status.

“Instead, we need to improve the quality and productivity of the council to offer world-class services to residents.

“We will always emphasise a high calibre culture among employees in order to continue striving higher, ” she added.

Also present at the awards ceremony was MPSJ deputy president Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali.
