SUBANG Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) celebrated its most prized staff with an Excellent Service Award ceremony.
The annual event saw 130 employees from various departments selected to receive recognition with a certificate commemorating their service and RM1,000 in cash.Recipients will also be given an opportunity to be nominated for further awards at the state level.
Seven soon-to-be retirees also received certificates of appreciation and RM900 for their hard work and service for the council.
Two long-serving employees, Safuan Aman and Tabarani Yusoff received RM1,500 each and certificates for their continued excellence through almost 30 years of service with the council.
The annual awards were also to encourage competition among its employees to strive for excellence in productivity and quality as well as instil confidence among residents.
The simple ceremony was held at the council headquarters in Subang Jaya.
MPSJ president Noraini Roslan, who presented the awards, said the last three months saw the council fork out RM20mil to battle the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, she said this was not cause for concern due to the cost-saving measures put in place before the pandemic.
“But we need to continue working towards changing for the better so that the council’s services can continue to be enjoyed by MPSJ residents, ” she said, referring to the municipality being upgraded to city status. “I hope our employees will not be lax with the status.
“Instead, we need to improve the quality and productivity of the council to offer world-class services to residents.
“We will always emphasise a high calibre culture among employees in order to continue striving higher, ” she added.
Also present at the awards ceremony was MPSJ deputy president Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali.
