‘Plastic bag fee collection ongoing but amount lower’

LOCAL councils still need to collect and hand over to the Selangor government the 20sen per plastic bag charge levied by businesses on consumers, despite disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

State environment, green technology, science, technology, innovation and consumer affairs committee chairman Hee Loy Sian said the collection programme was still ongoing but the expected amount would be lower because of the movement control order (MCO).
