THE Penang government has approved an immediate allocation of RM150,000 for sludge clearing work at a drain in Taman Cantik, Permatang Pauh.

State works, utilities and flood mitigation committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari said the allocation from the state Drainage Contribution Fund was made at the right time after no maintenance was conducted at the sewage drain in several years.
