PUTRAJAYA Corporation (PPj) does not have any outstanding payments to Pengangkutan Awam Putrajaya Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd (PAPTT), the main contractor managing Putrajaya Sentral.
In a statement on Thursday (June 11), PPj said that the payment arrangement with PAPTT was through reimbursement for any claims PAPTT makes after paying its subcontractors.
The last payment to PAPTT was made last month, for claims submitted in April for works completed in January and February.
PPj said it had never stopped processing or checking claims during the movement control order (MCO).
The statement followed a Facebook post on June 3 by ‘Insan Kerdil’, who claimed that a cleaning subcontractor for Putrajaya Sentral had not been paid in the last four months and called for responsible parties to look into the welfare of the workers.
PPj’s statement read that the issue raised by the complainant was between the cleaning subcontractor and PAPTT.
As the owner of the premises, PPj said it was only responsible for checking and making sure that PAPTT fulfilled its obligations as the main contractor.
PPj also said it would not interfere in the dealings between PAPTT and its contractors.
