SOME 10 areas in Klang and Kuala Langat are experiencing water disruption due to a burst pipe caused by third-party digging work at Jalan Langat in Klang on Wednesday evening (June 10).

Repairs were expected to end by 10am on Thursday (June 11), but as the burst pipe was more than 2m deep, reinforcement work had to be carried out first to secure the maintenance area, said Air Selangor corporate communication head Elina Baseri.

Time also had to be allocated for utility companies to shift existing underground cables at the affected site.

The water supply is expected to be restored by 2am on June 12.

The areas affected in Klang are Bandar Bistari and Mile 5 and 6 in Jalan Langat. For Kuala Langat, the areas affected are Mile 7 to 9 in Sijangkang, Jalan Sijangkang Utama, Taman Seri Medan, Taman Perwira, Taman Sijangkang Jaya, Mile 9 in Kebun Baru, Eco Santuary, Tropicana Aman and Mile 9 in Kampung Medan.

Tanker trucks have been mobilised to affected areas. Users are advised to download the Air Selangor app for latest updates.
