KUANTAN: A grace period will be given to explain the standard operating procedures (SOP) under the conditional movement control order (MCO) in Pahang.
State secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak said some businesses may be unfamiliar or confused about the SOP, thus enforcement teams would be advising traders and the public how to abide by it.
“Enforcement teams will be going down to as many premises as possible over the next few days to explain the SOP.
“Hopefully, the explanation can be given in one or two days and all of the traders can cooperate within a week. We do not want to take action unless it is a last resort, ” he said after inspecting several business and industrial operations here.
Sallehuddin said the authorities would not hesitate to shut down premises if there was non-compliance.
A set of conditions had been outlined after the Pahang government agreed to implement the conditional MCO on Friday.
Among others, premises could only reopen in green zones and all workers must undergo testing and be free of Covid-19 infection.
On the requirement to wear face mask at premises, Sallehuddin said although this was not compulsory under the law, safety must still be prioritised.
