THE rain in Penang has helped make the heat bearable, but it is not helping to fill up the dams fast enough in readiness for an expected prolonged dry season next year.
Despite the daily showers, Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) is calling on Penangites to be prudent about using water to conserve the resource.

The water level at Teluk Bahang Dam in Penang is still worryingly low. Cloud seeding operations will be carried out to induce rain and hopefully fill up the dams.
