Beauty queen raises RM13,000 for refugees in need

OVER RM13,000 in cash donations raised in under two days — that is how much Miss World Malaysia 2012 Lee Yvonne raised via her social media platform after posting a message asking for funds to help refugees struggling during the movement control order (MCO).

The money, which totalled RM13,171, will be channelled to help feed about 100 refugee families during the MCO, which ends on April 28.“I met these families before the MCO started on March 18 and decided to help them because I know how difficult life can be, especially now.
