Selangor govt to waive RM562,358 in April rental fees for 2,632 PPR units

The Selangor state government will be waiving RM562,358 in rental fees for the month of April for 2,632 units under its people’s housing project (PPR).

Meanwhile, the state will allow delayed payment for the month of May and June amounting to RM1,124,716.

The rental fee for three months, April will be waived and the fee for May and June could be delayed, said Selangor housing and urban living chairman Haniza Mohd Talha.

The PPRs that will benefit are PPR Kg Baru Hicom, PPR Kota Damansara, PPR Serendah and Council Homes Bandar Baru Bangi which consists of B40 families.

“We received complaints from residents who are not able to pay their rentals due to loss of income. Many are not able to leave their homes to carry out their business while others are affected by pay cuts.

“The state hopes the waiver will ease the burden of these families during this movement order control,” said Haniza.
