KLANG MCA has stepped up to provide necessities to frontliners in the district in the battle against Covid-19.
Klang MCA Wanita chief Tee Hooi Ling, youth wing chief Datuk BK Tan and Klang division secretary Foo Teck Li handed over medical supplies to the Selangor Customs Department.
“We gave the department 12 tubs of 14 litre hand sanitiser, 3,000 pieces of face masks, 300 gloves and two units of temperature reader, ’’ said Tan.
The items were received by the enforcement operations director Datuk Abdul Wahabi Abdullah.
Tan and Tee had also headed a delegation last week to hand over similar items to the Pandamaran police station.
Prior to that, Klang MCA distributed tubs of hand sanitisers, face shields, face masks, latex gloves, one portable air conditioning unit and one stand fan to the Panda-maran government clinic.
“We made the contribution to the clinic because it is very important for the doctors and nurses to protect themselves from being infected by the Covid-19 virus while executing their duties, ” said Tan.
He added that Klang MCA hoped the medical frontliners as well as the police would realise that the people were backing them all the way in the battle against the deadly virus.
“We hope our contribution, which is a reflection of our care and concern, will boost the morale of the recipients, ’’ he added.
Tan said Klang MCA would continue to source more equipment for the clinic in Pandamaran.
Meanwhile, Tee said the contribution was a show of appreciation for the people who worked while others stayed at home
“We are all staying at home keeping ourselves safe but hospital staff, the police as well as those with enforcement agencies like the Customs Department have to be out there serving the nation, ’’ she said, adding that Klang MCA appreciated their sacrifices.
