KUANTAN: The Regent of Pahang has consented to cede six months of his allowance to the state Covid-19 fund.

Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah would go without his allowance from April to September.

Comptroller of the Pahang Sultan Household Datuk Ahmad Khirrizal Ab Rahman said it was the Regent’s wish that assistance which had been approved for the Covid-19 Pahang Fund be channelled to the needy immediately.

“His Majesty also ordered the people of Pahang to always take care of their health and families as well as obey directives that had been set by the government during the movement control order period,” said Ahmad Khirrizal in a statement.

He added that Tengku Hassanal would pray for the recovery of Covid-19 patients in Malaysia and especially those in Pahang, as well as frontliners so that they have the strength and health to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
