THE Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCeb) is taking necessary action following the cancellation of the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign.
As such, it is advising industry partners to gradually remove the VM2020 logo in all marketing campaigns and promotional items, and replace it with the Malaysia Truly Asia logo.
“MyCeb would also like to encourage all industry partners to take advantage of the stimulus package offered by the Government to our industry in this trying situation, ” it said in a statement.
On March 18, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri announced the cancellation of the VM2020 campaign due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
“I would like to urge all industry players to adhere to guidelines and procedures in curbing the virus from spreading further, ” said MyCeb chief executive officer Datuk Seri Abdul Khani Daud.
“We shall remain strong and begin to look at our next strategy in making Malaysia a preferred business event destination as soon as the industry rebounds, ” he added.
MyCeb was established in 2009 to further strengthen Malaysia’s business tourism brand and position for the international business events market.
The non-profit organisation serves as a central hub to assist meeting and event planners to bid for and stage international business events in Malaysia and act as a conduit for national product development.
