MIRI: The 90,000-strong Catholics in Miri Diocese in northern Sarawak continue to pray for one another and for community, state and country — through social media — on the first day of movement control order.

Although church public gatherings are prohibited because of the restriction on public movement, it did not stop priests of the diocese from holding closed-door daily mass and broadcasting the prayers live to parishioners.

At St Joseph’s Cathedral in the city, the priests continued to perform daily mass in a private chapel without parishioners in attendance.
