TRADERS and the public shopping at the Sri Petaling morning market were surprised when they were presented with free bottles of hand sanitisers.

Members of Seputeh Zone Federal Territory Residents Representative Council (MPPWP) and Sri Petaling Market Hawker Association helped Seputeh DAP Service Centre to distribute the 2,000 bottles.

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, who was present at the distribution event, said prevention was better than cure.

“The number of hand sanitisers available is scarce and they are mostly out of stock in town currently. We were lucky enough to obtain them through a supplier.

“Hopefully, these 50ml hand sanitisers provided can help the people of Sri Petaling, ” she said.

“Initially, our plan was to distribute the hand sanitisers next week. However, due to the recent Covid-19 case reported in Sri Petaling, we decided it was important to distribute them here first.

“I urge all Sri Petaling residents, traders and people visiting Sri Petaling to take the necessary precautions such as frequently washing your hands with soap, using hand sanitisers and wearing a mask if possible, ” she added. — By SHALENNY CARINO
