State Umno happy with new Cabinet


JOHOR BARU: Johor Umno thanked Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for appointing nine Johor MPs to his Cabinet.

Its secretary Datuk Samsolbari Jamali (pic) said it was grateful that Muhyiddin appointed six ministers and three deputy ministers from the state under his leadership.

“We hope and pray that they are able to contribute to the nation through their respective ministries.

“This is the result of the ability and trust the country’s leadership has in Johor leaders, ” he said in a statement here.

Shamsolbari, who was recently appointed as the state agriculture, agro-based industry and rural development committee chairman, said Johor Umno hoped that the new Cabinet members would bring greater development to the state.

The Johor MPs with ministerial positions are Ayer Hitam MP and MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong as Transport Minister, Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein as Foreign Affairs Minister, Parit Sulong MP Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad as Higher Education Minister, Tenggara MP Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba as Health Minister, Kota Tinggi MP Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique as National Unity Minister and Mersing MP Datuk Dr Abdul Latiff Ahmad as Rural Development Minister.

Meanwhile, Sri Gading MP Datuk Dr Sahruddin Md Salleh is deputy Works Minister, Tanjung Piai MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng is deputy Agro Entrepreneur and Commodity Minister and Segamat MP Datuk Seri Dr Edmund R. Santhara Kumar is deputy Federal Territory Minister.
