SIBU: A total of 86 units of affordable homes or Rumah Spekra Permata (RSP) in Kemuyang here will be ready by April.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said this was part of the 2,500 RSP units announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg last year.

“Currently, 86 units of the RSP are being built by the Housing Development Corporation and another 24 units are in progress.

“The 86 units will be completed by April this year. Prices range between RM90,000 and RM160,000, ” he said after a site visit to Kemuyang.

Dr Sim said more affordable homes would be built.

He said the RSP is a Sarawak government programme to help those from the low-income group (B40) and medium-income group (M40) own homes.

Earlier, Dr Sim visited the project site in Sibu Jaya before heading to Kemuyang. — By ANDY CHUA
