Melaka to convert areas near dams into green lungs

Adly says work to plant rainforest trees around dams will start this month.

The state government will implement the Forest Restoration programme involving areas surrounding two dams in stages to gradually increase water catchment capacity.

Chief Minister Adly Zahari said the programme, which would be implemented at the Durian Tunggal Dam in Alor Gajah and Jus Dam in Jasin, would ensure sustainability of water resources.
