IT certainly is a prosperous year for Alice Chua who was announced the grand prize winner of the “Go for Gold” campaign by Parlo Tours Sdn Bhd, the main operating subsidiary of Parlo Bhd.
The 58-year-old part-time insurance agent from Kuala Lumpur won a 1,000g 999 gold bar worth a whopping RM202,088.
“I was at the bank when I received a call informing me of my win.
“Since I was focusing on my transaction, I did not pay much attention as I am cautious about scams.
“I returned the call to reconfirm and was really excited then.
“This is a big win and a first for me, ” said Chua, adding she had almost forgotten about having participated in the contest when she purchased a Morocco tour package at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair in September last year.
“Go for Gold” ran from Jan 14 to Dec 31 last year and customers with a minimum transaction of RM3,000 spent on Parlo Tours’ platform were entitled to one entry for the campaign’s lucky draw.
The prize-giving ceremony for the lucky 10 winners, picked from a pool of over 4,000 entries, was held at Wisma Parlo in Kuala Lumpur.
Manisah Md Yasin bagged the second prize of a 15-day, 12-night Balkans and The Adriatic tour package for two.
The 63-year-old frequent traveller from Kuala Lumpur has always been a regular customer of Parlo Tours.
“Selecting a travel agency is not a matter of dollars and cents but high quality professional service.
“It is always a worry-free experience for me when I travel with Parlo Tours. Everything is taken care of from A to Z, ” she said.
Fifth prize winner Ng Chooi Leng, who was planning to bring her husband on the free 10-day, 7-night Turkey trip, agreed with Manisah on the importance of customer service in the travel industry.
“Parlo Tours is among the handful of travel agencies that I prefer because of their dedicated staff, professional tour leaders and excellent customer service, ” said the 66-year-old retiree from Kuala Lumpur.
Over RM288,888 worth of lucky draw prizes were given away including tour packages for top travel destinations such as South Korea, Japan, Egypt and China as well as flight tickets from Emirates and AirAsia X to Europe and Japan respectively.
Speaking at the event, Parlo Bhd business development head Yap Fu Fah thanked customers for their support and trust throughout the years.
“Some of our customers have been with us for nearly 40 years and seen us grow from a single office in Ipoh to where we are today.
“Many of our regular customers have become personal friends and always give us constructive feedback.
“We will continue to grow, learn and improve ourselves to serve them better, ” said Yap, adding that the campaign was the company’s way of giving back to its customers.
Meanwhile, Klook’s products are now available on Marketplace by Broker, a B2B cloud-based platform developed by Parlo.
