Discovering new way to use technology

The HP Little Makers – Family Edition Campaign by HP Printers attracted pupils and their parents to take part in various sessions.

THE HP Little Makers – Family Edition Campaign by HP Printers was launched to reinvent learning experiences among schoolchildren and parents.

Six schools from the Klang Valley were selected to conduct HP Little Makers – Family Edition print activities via workshops with pupils and their parents.

The workshops were held at SK Bukit Rahman Putra on Sept 28, SK Bandar Baru Sentul (Oct 12), SK Taman Melati (Oct 20), SK Saujana Utama (Nov 2), SK Subang Bestari 2 (Nov 16) and Sekolah Sri Acmar on Nov 17 last year.

Although the HP Little Makers –Family Edition workshop was held on weekends, it did not prevent parents from actively engaging with their children during the sessions.

According to one of the participating mothers, Norziati Mansor whose child goes to SK Bukit Rahman Putra, the programmes boosted her son’s creativity and exposed him to new discoveries.

During the workshop sessions, the participants completed four main challenges, namely Paper Plane Physics, Time Will Tell, Animal Kingdom and Around Malaysia.

The workshop was part of the contest that offered an attractive prize of RM10,000 worth of HP products to the top winners as well as other monthly prizes.

To participate in the contest, each family had to upload pictures with their challenges on social media such as Facebook and Instagram with the hashtags #HPMY, #HPDeskJet, #ReinventLearning and #HPLittleMakers.

The programme, by HP Malaysia in collaboration with Kuntum magazine, received positive response from parents.

The programme was organised in line with the aspirations of the Education Ministry to preserve the Digital Maker’s Hub culture that focuses on technology-based learning.

Under Reinvent Learning Initiative, Little Makers Family Edition as an on-ground activation continues to engage with parents and children aged five to 12 years old via HP Deskjet Ink Advantage Printers to reinforce the theme of “Print. Experience. Learn.” through print-based learning.

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage offers variations such as easy printing from smartphones and tablets as well as wireless and speed printing that are accessible to all children, students and others to use for smart learning and to develop their skills accordingly.
