FOR the new school year, highway concessionaires for Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), Sprint Highway and the Smart Tunnel Highway collaborated to organise a charity programme to benefit 60 underprivileged children.

The beneficiaries were from Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Puchong and Yayasan Chow Kit in Kuala Lumpur.

The event took place at Kompleks Operasi Litrak in Subang Jaya.

Each recipient received a set of school supplies and stationery worth RM200.

The aid was to help reduce their families’ burden in preparing for the new school term.

Litrak and Sprint chief executive officer Sazally Saidi said the contribution was made every year to help the community.

“We hope that these community activities will lessen their financial burden, ” he said.

Also present was Smart Tunnel chief operating officer Sharifah Alauyah Wan Othman.

Sazally said Litrak, Sprint and Smart spent RM23,000 on this programme.

“We hope it will benefit the children and their families, especially in the current challenging economic climate, ” he added.
