With this in mind, Aeon Co (M) Bhd collaborated with The Walt Disney Company Malaysia to introduce “Year of Mouse & Mickey Love” collection for the Chinese New Year.
The one-year collaboration will emphasise the introduction of merchandise during key festive seasons such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and National Day.
The Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia) Pte Limited Consumer Products Commercialisation director Tan Wee said creativity, decency, innovation and optimism were the keys to Disney.
“From the epic action adventure of Marvel to heartfelt moments with Disney and Mickey, the company is offering something for families to enjoy this Chinese New Year.
“We work with the best in class brands like Aeon to bring Disney stories and characters alive through locally relevant and epic products for all our fans.
“We are happy to announce our first collaboration with Aeon to premiere our unique Mickey Love collection.
“The collection is designed to bring out the spirit of the Year of the Mouse with the feel of all-time Disney favourite characters with Aeon’s expertise and vast local knowledge about customers’ taste and preferences, ” said Tan.
Also present at the launch in Aeon Mid Valley Megamall, was Aeon Ladies, Mens, Kids and Innerwear head Megumi Asano.
Tan said the special launch of Mickey collection was for young adults.
“The inspiration for this collaboration is to ensure we have more products for adult customers as they always tell us they are huge fans of Disney.
“There will be multiple launches throughout 2020 across all our brands and a launch for National Day, for another collection, ” added Tan.
To enhance its customers’ shopping experience, Aeon will specially design a Mickey brand section to introduce the latest collection.
The Disney-themed retail display can be found at three Aeon stores, namely in Mid Valley and Taman Maluri in Kuala Lumpur, and Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya this Chinese New Year.
The “Year of Mouse & Mickey Love” collection will comprise over 50 items, ranging from a variety of T-shirts for the entire family, to an exclusive range of specially designed tote bags and plush toys of Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
The items, priced between RM29 and RM50, are available until Jan 20.
