SIBU: The construction of additional 125 parking bays behind the Sibu Hospital cafeteria is expected to be completed by next week.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling said the project involved a cost of RM500,000 and the sum was fully funded by his parliamentary allocations.

“Currently, there are 600 parking bays in the Sibu Hospital area, of which 400 are for hospital staff use. The rest are for the public but it is not enough, ” he said after a site visit to the hospital.

Ling said the project, which started last November, was expected to resolve the problem of parking shortage at Sibu Hospital.

Also present at the site were Bukit Assek assemblyman Irene Chang, Pelawan assemblyman David Wong and Sibu Hospital director Dr Ngian Hie Ung.
