JOHOR BARU: It never crossed Shafie Ahmad’s mind that he would win the 6th Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Award (IMSHA) 2019 but he did and it was a pleasant surprise.The cultural officer with the Johor Heritage Foundation (YWS) was recognised for his dedicated service in arts, culture and heritage.IMSHA 2019 is recognised by the United Nations as a Good Practice Awards provider.

“My interest in arts, culture and heritage came about during my secondary school days at Sultan Abu Bakar College, ” said Shafie, 58.
