IN the spirit of togetherness during the festive period, popular pizza maker US Pizza Malaysia contributed 40 personal pizzas to 25 kids and several volunteers of Shan Children’s Home.

The children did not only get to enjoy the delicious pizzas but were also given stationery items and snacks.

They were also entertained by the Pizza Man mascot that was specially brought in to entertain the children.

The recent event at the home in Jalan Mount Erskine, Tanjung Tokong, Penang, was also attended by Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Sim Tze Tzin and US Pizza Malaysia managing director Jeremy Hiew.

Sim spent about an hour with the children, giving words of encouragement and motivating them to study hard so that they can contribute to the country one day.

The event, which was organised in conjunction with Christmas, was part of US Pizza Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility programme.

Besides good fun and great food, US Pizza Malaysia also contributed food supplies and necessities to the home.

Hiew said the aim of the event was for the company to give back to society.

“We believe that with an act of kindness spreading like ripples of water, the children will continue to serve the community when they grow up,” he said.
