The foundation via Sentuhan Kasih Hari Natal 2019 as well as state agencies and non- governmental organisations spread cheer to the less privileged with meal treats and donations of basic necessities.
Yayasan Petronas chief executive officer Lita Osman said, “Christmas is always a time for joy, love and peace. We believe that good can flourish through collective acts of kindness.
“Our goal is to spend as much time as possible with the less fortunate and share presents.
“It is wonderful to see their faces light up with our small gestures.”
Throughout the 10-day programme, 185 Petronas volunteers will visit old folk’s homes and orphanages as well as low-income (B40) families in Melaka, Johor, Sabah, Labuan, Sarawak, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
Volunteer Tg Nurulhidayah Tg Ishak said it was a rewarding experience for her.
“I am reminded to be grateful for the abundance of blessings I have in my life and to share it with others.
“I will continue volunteering as it allows me to use my time and energy towards something positive,” she said.
The Sentuhan Kasih Yayasan Petronas programme is part of the foundation’s community
well-being and development focus area, initiated to coincide with major celebrations in Malaysia.
It provides an avenue for Yayasan Petronas to work with communities to provide for their basic needs and well-being.
