CHRISTMAS came early for the children of Agathians Shelter, Petaling Jaya.

Among other things, the underprivileged children were treated to a street-style Christmas musical performance accompanied by drums organised by eCurve mall in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

At one point during the show, the 10 children were even invited to dance along with the performers.

Shoppers can also catch the show this weekend, on Christmas Eve at 3pm and 6pm as well as on Christmas day.

The children also received Christmas goodies and a festive umbrella courtesy of eCurve, and were treated to lunch at the Royale Chulan Hotel.

eCurve acting centre manager Gina Long Ahmad said this was the second time eCurve hosted such an event for the children of Agathians Shelter.

“Carrying out corporate social responsibility-based campaigns during festive seasons and

giving back to society are part and parcel of the mall’s activities.

She said it was important for corporate bodies to give back to society to ensure that the underprivileged do not feel left out.

“We prefer bringing the children to the mall rather than conducting CSR campaigns at the homes as the children can then experience Christmas and look at all the different decorations.

“Although it requires more effort to get the children here, we feel it is worth our while to give them a more memorable experience, ” Gina said.

Agathian Shelter volunteer Manggai Balasubramaniyan said the children had a wonderful time at eCurve.

“I was really impressed by what eCurve has delivered. My boys truly enjoyed the whole performance and lunch treat.

“Some of them have even said that they want to come back with their friends.

“The shelter really appreciates eCurve for bringing joy and fun this Christmas season, ” she said.

The CSR campaign was conducted in conjunction with eCurve’s Christmas festivities themed “Expressions of Christmas” which was inspired by graffiti art.

The Christmas festivities for shoppers will continue until Dec 25.
