CANINE welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) will be holding a Christmas open house for donors, well-wishers and friends tomorrow.
In thanking the public, MDDB said it was their generosity and goodwill that have allowed
animal rescue groups to continue with their work and helped them make ends meet for the last 10 years.
MDDB events coordinator Derene Lee said, “We are very thankful for the support we are receiving.
“It has enabled us to rescue hundreds of dogs and puppies over the years.”
She said MDDB has also been continuously conducting adoption drives over the past decade, successfully rehoming almost a thousand dogs and puppies.
“We have even rehomed dogs as far as the United States with the help of people from there who donated money to bring the dogs to them, ’’ said Lee.
As a gesture of thanks, MDDB holds a gathering once in a
few years to interact with its donors as well as treat them to a simple meal.
“That is the least we can do for those who have been supportive of us, ’’ said Lee.
MDDB’s Christmas open house will be held at The Square, Jaya One, Petaling Jaya, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm with a lunch treat.
MDDB’s 2020 calendar and merchandise such as T-shirts, mugs and non-woven bags will also be launched at the event.
Titled the Pawvengers Calendar, the 2020 issue features MDDB’s
12 special dogs that have survived the odds.
Taglined “Special Dogs are Superheros”, the calendar has a photograph of the dogs as well
as their respective superhero caricatures.
“The calendar as well as the rest of our merchandise will make excellent Christmas gifts and we are hoping to make a good sale on that day, ’’ said Lee, adding that members of the public who wished to touch base with MDDB were also invited to the open house.
