High tech cyber crimes hinder crackdown


Comm Narenasagaran says police are up against an international group with latest technology and bent on reaping millions in money scams.

A HIGHLY sophisticated cyber crime network is hindering police’s efforts to effectively curb such crimes.

Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran said police had opened 1,686 investigation papers on such crimes from January to October 31 this year compared to 1,326 during the same period last year.
