Soffian is new OCPD for George Town

NEWLY appointed George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong has vowed to perform his duty with dedication and integrity.

“I’ll focus on three things that have been laid out by the top leadership of the police force.

“The first is enhancing the integrity and accountability of the police officers and personnel, while the second is improving the service delivery system.

“I’ll also support the establishment of an Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC).

“We will work closely with the community in combating crime, ” he said.

ACP Soffian, 43, was the Terengganu deputy CID chief prior to his latest posting.

He succeeded Senior Asst Comm Che Zaimani Che Awang, 58, who has been appointed Kedah Crime Prevention and Community Security Department chief.

Penang police chief Comm Datuk T. Narenasagaran witnessed the handover of duty at the George Town district police headquarters in Patani Road recently.
