WITH a new modern retail hub ambience, patrons can now look forward to visiting the refurbished Aeon Taman Maluri Shopping Centre — now known as Aeon Style Taman Maluri in Kuala Lumpur.
Undergoing a major facelift after three decades, the shopping centre was recently painted and has expanded its retail space by 50% to 450,000sq ft, on top of having a good mix of 122 tenants.
Aeon Co (M) Bhd corporate management executive director Poh Ying Loo said the makeover was aimed at rejuvenating and transforming the shopping centre to enhance customers’ experience.
“Since 1989, Aeon Taman Maluri Shopping Centre has been a landmark serving the community over the years and many of our customers grew up with the store, with some now patronising the place with their children or grandchildren.
“As times change, a store has to remain relevant by adjusting and evolving to cater to the desires and needs of the community it serves, hence, the overhaul, ” he said.
Poh added that the refurbishment exercise started two years ago throughout Aeon stores nationwide, including the Aeon Taman Maluri Shopping Centre which also houses the retailer’s headquarters.
“The newly renovated seven-storey building is a result of prioritising customer behaviour and current lifestyle trends.
“In a nutshell, Aeon Style Taman Maluri represents the latest facilities and offerings with an additional plus point — the shopping centre is directly linked to the Aeon Maluri MRT Station and is just a few steps away from the Maluri LRT Station, ” said Poh adding that passersby would not miss the colourful wall light display with Aeon signage outside the building at night.
The refurbishment, which started in March 2016, features an expanded 200,000sq ft department store and supermarket as well as 250,000sq ft retail area for tenants.
With 50% food and beverage (F&B) providers among tenants, shoppers can expect to indulge in a wide range of F&B options, including a food court on the first floor.
Even the washrooms are upgraded and designed to be Instagrammable, while the little ones can visit the customised childrens’ washroom.
To make shoppers’ visit even better, the shopping centre is not only WiFi-connected but also offers hotspots and rest areas with charging ports.
Taking into consideration the needs of parents and their young ones, the mall has a dedicated children’s department — Kids Republic — where shoppers can find everything they need in one space.
If any parent needs tips and professional advice on baby-related care and products, two professional baby advisers, stationed at Kids Republic, are ready to assist.
Mothers will have peace of mind knowing that baby nursing rooms and diaper changing stations are also available.
Other departments like travel, electrical and fashion have been upgraded to offer better variety.
The refurbishment has also created new spaces within the mall, including various food corners and the Relaxing Garden where customers can take time off from shopping and unwind amid the beauty of nature.
To celebrate its reopening, various promotions, activities, giveaways and treats have been lined up for customers.
