Kedah aims to keep traditional theatre alive

THE Kedah Culture and Arts Department (JKKN) is focusing on the empowerment of theatre, particularly the traditional theatres, to ensure the cultural performance remains relevant in the era of globalisation.

Traditional theatres such as Jikey and Mek Mulung, which were popular in the state years ago, should be conserved and continued to be performed in today’s society.
