Johoreans getting better healthcare

PONTIAN: Pontian Hospital will soon be equipped with a centralised oxygen system next May that will benefit patients seeking treatment there, says state health, culture and heritage committee chairman Mohd Khuzzan Abu Bakar.

“During the recent Budget 2020 tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, the Federal Government allocated RM95mil for the country’s healthcare and Pontian Hospital will receive some of the money.

“The oxygen system will be ready in the next couple of months and this will help the hospital provide better healthcare services to those living around Tanjung Piai and Pontian, ” he added.

Mohd Khuzzan, who is also Semerah assemblyman, was speaking at a Pakatan ceramah held at a Chinese food court in Jalan Johor.

He said the Johor government would be renovating health clinics in Pekan Nanas and Penerok as the buildings were a bit run down.

“The state government introduced the Kad Sihat Johor to help those in the B40 group to get medical treatment.

“For families, each card is worth RM500 per year while for individuals, the limit is RM200 involving RM50 for each treatment session in any of the 248 panel clinics, ” he added. — By MOHD FARHAAN SHAH
