Ex-sportsmen happy with plans for field

Louis agrees it is time for MPK to rejuvenate the neglected space.

CHETTY Padang, which was a training ground for numerous sportsmen, gets its name from the Chettiar merchants of Tamil Nadu in South India who conducted their moneylending business across the field at Jalan Raya Barat, Klang.

Adding to that, the 150-year-old Sri Nagara Thandayuthapani Hindu temple and the Nattukotai Chettiar town house on one side of the field are managed by the Chettiar community.
