Butterworth all set for thrilling street festival

MORE than 100 local and international artists will take part in the Butterworth Fringe Festival (BFF) 2019 at the Padang Permuda Merdeka next month.

The event will be held on Dec 7 and 8 from 5pm till 11pm.

Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said the BFF is one of the programmes in line with the implementation of the New Butterworth Plan to enhance the economic development of the local population.

“Holistic commitment and collaboration from all parties is the key ingredient to make the BFF a success, ” he said after chairing a full council meeting at the MBSP headquarters in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam.

The BFF will showcase more than 50 programmes including performances from the UITM Chamber Choir, Reoq Ponorogo from Malaysia, Naranja from the Netherland, Pop-Up Drum, a RM2 mini food festival, artisan market, workshop, wall art competition and many others.

Also present at the recent press conference were council secretary Rosnani Mahmod and Think City programme executive Nicole Thum.
