Hospice raising funds to expand palliative care

Palliative care within the country is still not very accessible, said Charis Hospice Penang chairman Lee Khai.

“About one-fifth of our patients die within 10 days after being referred to us, ” he said, adding that patients with terminal diseases should have earlier access to hospice care instead of waiting until almost the end of their lives.
