MALAYSIAN Education and Students Welfare Foundation (YPKPM) will donate necessities to children in need in the city to prepare them for school next year.
YPKPM vice-president Datuk Sheeda Romli said YPKPM will hold an event on Dec 14 at Da Men Mall in Subang Jaya, Selangor, to help provide clothing and other school supplies to 200 underprivileged primary school pupils.
“For four consecutive years, we have successfully organised charity programmes to help the needy. Our main concern this year are primary school pupils, aged 7 to 12.
“Instead of having all 200 pupils from the same school, we will do a thorough search to find the most deserving recipients.
“The public are welcome to take part in the programme, ” she said.
Sheeda said their main objective was to ease the family’s financial burden as there were parents struggling to provide uniforms and stationery for their school-going children.
“We understand there are many expenses involved for couples with children who are schooling, especially if the family is facing financial difficulties.
“This is why if we manage to get extra funding, we will use it to give pocket money to the children, ” she added.
YPKPM was initiated by foundation president Siti Nadiatulakma Saharuddin in 2014.
They accept any form of contribution that can be put to good use by schoolchildren in need, such as school equipment, uniforms as well as food and beverages besides monetary contributions.
