JOHOR BARU: A local man who tried to get a RM10,000 personal loan from what looked to be a legitimate credit leasing company was instead duped into losing RM1,000.

The victim, who only wanted to be known as Wong, saw an advertisement on Facebook for personal loans from as low as RM5,000 to RM100,000, and decided to contact the company.
